The Ordinary, Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%
It’s not often I refer to a skincare product as a no-brainer, but if you’ve not got this little beauty in your collection, then you’re definitely missing out.
The key ingredient, azelaic acid, is a supercharged antioxidant that packs a punch. Naturally found in grains and produced by the yeast that lives on our skin, azelaic acid works to brighten skin tone and boost skin texture.
Unlike many acids, this key ingredient has been shown to reduce redness and rosacea, making it a great introductory product for those that want to dip their toes into acid products without the irritation.
The Ordinary’s formulation is a lightweight cream-gel, which sinks into the skin incredibly quickly and leaves a matte texture on the skin.
I like to use it in the morning and evenings when I feel like my skin feels like it needs a boost, whether that be dullness or a smatter of unwelcome blemishes. When applied overnight, I notice my skin feels considerably softer and smoother the morning after which is an absolute dream when I’m on the go with work and want a quick pick me up.
Within a couple of days of regular use, I noticed an improved level of brightness in my skin tone and texture, so much so that its become my go-to product when my skin is looking and feeling sad. I’d definitely recommend you dip your toes (or face) into the world of azelaic acid.
