Mane Control

Recently, I’ve come to find a selection of haircare products that produce excellent results, so what better way to share them than in a consolidated blog post!

Long, thick hair needs heavy duty care – but my eczema can make it quite difficult to find good haircare products that don’t irritate my scalp. I’ve got in-depth product reviews on the below (each one is hyper-linked) but here’s a quick run-down on what they do and why they’re great.

Goldwell DualSenses Scalp Specialist Foam Shampoo

Anything that claims to be soft of the scalp is a winner in my book and this one definitely doesn’t disappoint. Plus – it’s a FOAM shampoo. Amazing right?! I’ve had it about three months and it still has absolutely loads of product so it’s definitely worth the money.

Goldwell DualSenses Rich Repair Conditioner

I was really impressed by how sleek and shiny this made my hair, and unlike a lot of conditioners it didn’t leave an artificial layer over the ends of my hair. My only problem with this product is you don’t get too much for the cost, plus with the length and thickness of my hair I got about eight uses out of it before it ran out.

Goldwell DualSenses Rich Repair Serum

This was my ultimate favourite for loveable locks during summer, but I still love to use it now. Like a lot of serums, you only need the smallest amount to add its magic conditioning powers to the ends of my hair. I like this serum because its unscented, kind to my scalp and good at protecting my hair from split ends.

KMS California Silk Sheen Serum

If this serum didn’t do a thing, I’d still use it for its incredible smell! Two to three small pumps of this serum makes my hair softer, split-end free and glossy so I’d definitely recommend it!

Babyliss Pro GT Ionic II Hairdryer

I recently invested in this new hairdryer, for such a compact size it is really powerful. I love using the cold setting as I finish drying my hair as it flattens all the hair follicles and stops it from looking frizzy.

This hairspray is by far the best I’ve tried before. The hold is strong without making my hair crispy or hard, and unlike any other hairspray it smells lovely – a mixture of sweet and fresh.

Evo Love Touch Shine Spray

I find that I don’t really need a shine spray during the week as I find the combination of the above products keep my hair looking glossy. However, if I want to give my hair a bit of a perk-up and a treat, I use this product. Evo do great haircare, and this spray is no exception.

VO5 Refresh Me Quick Dry Shampoo

Whilst the best of haircare routines can keep my mane looking shiny and clean, sometimes a dry shampoo is just necessary! I try to keep my hair washing to every other day, so I’d wash it on a Monday night, and then a Wednesday night and so on. This dry shampoo doesn’t make my hair look or feel chalky and gives me the look of freshly washed hair in-between washes.

What haircare products have you been liking at the moment?
