Dublin Day 4

On our last day we had to check out at 12, so we made the most of our cosy bed and room with a nice long lie in! We then had nine hours to kill before our flight so we spent a lot of our day bobbing in and out of the various cafes near Grafton Street.

Like many of our adventures in new cities, we spotted lots of places that looked really great to eat at, so next time we head to Dublin we’re going to aim to stay closer to this area. The shops round here seemed much nicer too, so maybe next time we’ll indulge in some retail therapy too!

During our wandering we spotted a place called Salamanca, where  we got a starter and a main for only €10 each!  Surprisingly this was the best meal we’d had, the restaurant was really busy so we got a bit neglected in terms of service, but the food was delicious.

After a chilled out day we made our way back to the hotel, collected our bags and jumped on the airlink bus to the airport. We had a really great time in Dublin, it is such a huge city that has so much to offer that we almost felt like we’d missed out a huge chunk, but we’ll definitely back to discover more places.

Our trip away was a much needed break, and as Matt’s uncle put it when we got back it ‘put a smile on our faces and topped up the love in our hearts’.
